What: Make a personal commitment to make environmental protection a part of your daily life. Earth Day was founded by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson April 22, 1970 and is celebrated in more than 175 countries every year.

2010 marks the 40th anniversary of Earth Day!

What Can You Do?

Make a personal commitment to make environmental protection a part of your daily life. Find events and ideas on EPA’s Earth Day site, or create your own. Show the world your ‘before and after’ story on the Pick 5 Facebook fan page and pictures in the Pick 5 Flickr group. You CAN make a difference, so grab a friend, join with others to take action and celebrate from now through Earth Day weekend. Happy Earth Day everyone!
