There’s more to celebrating Cinco de Mayo than just eating your favorite Mexican food this Sunday. Cinco de Mayo has gone from a day to commemorate freedom and democracy in Mexico to a fun way to celebrate Mexican heritage and traditions in the United States as well. Check out all the fun party supplies we have at PartyLand Utah and you are sure to find yourself joining in the festivities this weekend.

The easiest way to get ready for any party is find the right decorations. You’ll find banners, flags, centerpieces, table runners, party favors and more. It’s easy to mix and match decorations and tableware by sticking to the colors of the Mexican flag (red, white and green) or by using warm, bright colors.

When it comes to tableware, PartyLand has a number of choices. You can use Fiesta themed tableware like the table covers, plates, napkins and cups shown above, or you can choose from our vast selection of solid color items.

When it comes to finding great items to use at your fiesta, remember you can use items that aren’t fiesta specific. At PartyLand you can get tissue paper flowers (or grab some tissue paper and make your own), paper lanterns in every color or this amazing floral sheeting. Just imagine what it would look like if you had red table covers accented with these bright yellow flowers. The colors are sure to wow your guests!

A must have item for Cinco de Mayo, or any fiesta, is a piñata and PartyLand has plenty of them. Each store got a recent shipment of a great variety of piñatas, but you should still hurry over so that you can choose from the best selection. Remember you can use the Jumbo size for decorations around your party, use the regular sized ones to fill with candy and break open and grab some mini piñatas for table centerpieces or decorations around the food area.

With a whole section devoted to bulk candy, you’ll be able to find a wide variety of treats to fill your piñata with. If you’re looking for stickers and small toys, we carry those as well. For an extra fun surprise, add some bouncy balls to the mix of prizes. Especially if the piñata will be broken open  over wood, concrete or tiled floor, the bouncing balls will add to the excitement of the candy falling out for the kids to grab.

You can put away the baseball bats and brooms because we carry piñata sticks that are made specifically to be used to break open piñatas! They look almost as festive as the piñatas.

Buddy the Elf says “The best way to spread Christmas cheer is by singing loud for all to hear.” Buddy also said “The best way to have Cinco de Mayo fun is to shake maracas with everyone”.  Ok… maybe he didn’t really say that, but I’m sure he would have if I could have gotten in touch with him. He’s busy this time of year though… Christmas is only 235 days away.

Anyway… if you want to take Buddy’s advice and have some Cinco de Mayo fun, you’ll want to pick up some maracas while you’re at PartyLand. We have them in various colors and styles. We also have a whole mustache section to enjoy as well. You can find the perfect fake ‘stache to wear while playing your maracas and pick up some mustache party favors while you’re at it. We even have balloons with mustaches on them!
